About the cut time and cost
Estimate plasma machine time from the cut length, number of pierces, material and thickness, and what that cutting costs.
How it works
Time = cut length ÷ cut speed + pierces × pierce time. Cut speed and pierce time come from our cut charts for the amperage used on that thickness.
Questions
Why do holes add so much time?
Every hole needs its own pierce, and small holes are cut slower to keep them round, so pierces often cost more than the straight cutting.
Is this the full price?
No, it is the cutting only. Material, finish and the minimum order are added in the Nesting Studio estimate.
