About Hardox wear plate
Hardox is a hardened, abrasion-resistant steel plate. The number is the hardness: 400, 450 and 500 Brinell. It lasts many times longer than mild steel where material slides or impacts.
Grades: Hardox 400, Hardox 450, Hardox 500. Thickness from 3 mm to 40 mm.
Typical uses: Bucket liners, cutting edges, chute and hopper liners, crusher and screen parts and skid plates.
Edge and finish
Plasma heat softens a narrow band next to the cut edge. That is normal and usually acceptable for liners; holes are best cut slightly undersize or drilled with suitable tooling.

Questions
Can you drill Hardox after cutting?
It needs carbide or special drills. Where possible we cut the holes on the table instead.
Which hardness should I choose?
Hardox 400 bends and welds most easily; 450 is a common all-round choice; 500 is for the most abrasive work.
